Lieu Bill to Protect Victims of Domestic Violence Passes Key Committee

At the March Volunteer Activist Night (VAN), activists from all over the Bay Area came together to speak out for domestic violence legislation. Together, they took action on AB 2052, a bill introduced by Assemblymember Lieu from El Segundo that allows victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to terminate a housing lease in order to find other housing and move to a safer location.

This piece of legislation is quickly making its way through committee and will soon hit the Assembly floor. We need to let our representatives know that we will no longer allow domestic violence victims to live in unsafe circumstances just to avoid financial repercussions.
